In a tragic event that unfolded in Springfield, Tennessee, 62-year-old Sherry Green, was found deceased in her home on September 29, 2020. Alongside her was her 74-year-old husband, Joseph Matthew Green, who had also been fatally shot. The Robertson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a possible gunshot wound at a residence on Green Rd. that afternoon.
Upon their arrival, investigators discovered the bodies of Sherry and Joseph Green inside the home. In the backyard, they found 51-year-old Joseph Scott Green, who was Sherry's stepson and Joseph Matthew Green's son, deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A firearm was located near his body.
The investigation that followed pointed to a grim conclusion: a double homicide and suicide. Evidence uncovered at the scene, including a note, suggested that the family had been experiencing significant domestic turmoil leading up to the fatal incident.
