In the early morning hours of November 27, 2020, a domestic altercation in a Springfield, Tennessee, home ended in tragedy, claiming the life of 46-year-old Melanie Dempsey. The incident, which also left her 15-year-old daughter with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the wrist, unfolded at their residence on Boyd Holland Road. When deputies from the Robertson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a gunshot wound, they discovered Dempsey with a grave gunshot wound to the head.
