In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in November 2014, the life of 24-year-old Gilbert 'Gizzy' Fowler was tragically cut short in Nashville, Tennessee. Responding to a call just after 1 a.m. on November 12th, police discovered Fowler's body in the driveway of a home on Scovel Street in the northern part of the city. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

In addition to the murder charge, Alderson also pleaded guilty to the possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. For these crimes, he received a significant sentence. He was ordered to serve 25 years for the second-degree murder conviction, which was to be served concurrently with an eight-year sentence for the firearms charge.
