On December 8, 2016, 54-year-old Johnathan Echols was found dead alongside Freddie Jones, age 52, in a residence on the east side of Kansas City, Missouri. Both men had been shot multiple times. Police discovered their bodies at a home located in the 3900 block of Chestnut after responding to reports of a shooting. Witnesses stated that the perpetrators, who were acquainted with the victims, had entered the house to commit a robbery that ultimately led to the double homicide.
