In the spring of 2015, a life was tragically cut short in Nashville, Tennessee, over a dispute that began with a simple parking issue. Andre Lavon Henderson, a 32-year-old man, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, April 4, 2015. The confrontation that led to his death started as a verbal argument with another man, Calvin Carter, concerning how Henderson had parked his vehicle in an alley.
The disagreement escalated as both men, who lived in separate apartments nearby, reportedly
went to their respective residences after the initial argument. Carter, however, is said to have armed himself and then proceeded to Henderson's apartment to continue the confrontation. The dispute then moved to Carter's apartment, where the conflict reached its devastating conclusion. It was there that Carter allegedly shot Henderson in the chest. Emergency services were called, and Henderson was transported to Nashville General Hospital at Meharry, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, police officers were able to locate and detain Carter in a nearby alley. During questioning, Carter reportedly admitted to shooting Henderson. He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal homicide. Carter, who was 36 years old at the time of the incident, was booked into the Metro Jail and held on a $1 million bond. The investigation into the fatal shooting was led by Detective Nicholas Kulp of the Metro Nashville Police Department. Andre Henderson was a husband and a father to five children.
