Sean Michael Bolton, a 33-year-old male was a dedicated police officer with the Memphis Police Department. On August 1, 2015, Officer Bolton was fatally shot while conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of Cottonwood Road and Perkins Road. He was shot multiple times by one of the occupants of the vehicle he had stopped, who then fled the scene.
