Dante Jefferson, a 19-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead on January 28, 2017, in a wooded area near 53rd and Brighton Avenue. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to the area after a report of a dead body. Upon arrival, they discovered Dante's body south of 52nd and Brighton Avenue, on the west side of the roadway. He showed no signs of life, and the death was determined to be a homicide.
