On a late Friday evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 34-year-old Steve Taylor, a Black man, was tragically cut short. On March 11, 2016, at the Briar Club Apartments in the Hickory Hill neighborhood, a heated argument escalated into a fatal encounter. Taylor was discovered in a grassy area of the apartment complex, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and torso.
