In the spring of 2016, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Southwest Memphis. Terry Figgs, a 25-year-old male, was in the 1800 block of Farrington on May 11, 2016, when he was shot multiple times. The fatal shooting occurred in the yard of a home, where he was pronounced dead. The motive for the attack appeared to be robbery, as the assailant fled the scene with Figgs's duffle bag.
