On a summer evening in Smyrna, Tennessee, a dispute between two men escalated into a fatal encounter that ended the life of 47-year-old Keith Jackson. The Black / African American man was shot and killed on Saturday, June 18, 2016, following a heated argument. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Threet Street, a residential area that became the scene of a homicide investigation.
