In the early morning hours of August 20, 2016, a life was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Jeromee 'Jmoney' White, a 20-year-old male, was fatally shot outside of Kitten's Kabaret, a gentleman's club located in the 2800 block of Lamb Place. The incident unfolded around 3:15 a.m., leaving White with multiple gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Initial investigations by the Memphis Police Department revealed that the shooting occurred after White
approached a silver SUV in the area. The suspect, or suspects, fled the scene immediately after the shots were fired. For a time, no arrests were made, and the case remained an active investigation as authorities sought to bring those responsible to justice.
A break in the case came when investigators identified Freddy Yarbor as a suspect in the fatal shooting. A Shelby County Grand Jury indicted Yarbor on November 10, 2016. The United States Marshal Service apprehended him in Jackson, Mississippi, the following weekend. Yarbor was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Jeromee White. After his arrest, he was held pending extradition to Memphis to face the charges against him.
