On the early morning of November 5, 2016, the Knoxville community was shaken by the tragic loss of Ronald Eugene Nelson Jr., a 44-year-old African American man. Ronald, affectionately known as "Ron" to his family and friends, was the beloved son of Ann Gates and Ronnie Sr. Nelson.
