On May 3, 2023, at approximately 3 p.m., Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk of the Broadway bridge, situated between West Depot Avenue and West Jackson Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee.
