In the cool night air of January 20, 2017, the life of 20-year-old Christopher Woodard, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on East 12th Street in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Woodard was in a vehicle with 23-year-old Jumoke Johnson Jr. when another car pulled alongside them, and shots were fired. Both Woodard and Johnson were killed in the attack, their vehicle crashing in the aftermath. At the time of his death, Woodard was out on bond facing robbery charges.
