On May 12, 2017, three-year-old Marcus Haislip III was tragically shot and killed in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred near 54th and Park, and it took nearly four years for charges to be filed in his case. Authorities arrested Derrick D. Wren Jr., who was charged with murder for his role in the fatal shooting. At the time of the incident, Marcus was in the car with family members when gunfire struck him, leading to his death.
