Charles Chucky Norman Brown, a 53-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on May 28, 2017, in front of his East Knoxville home. He was outside his house on East Fifth Avenue when he was shot in the front yard. Witnesses reported that Brown staggered across the street and collapsed in front of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he later died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
