In the Berclair neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, a tragic and fatal encounter unfolded on the afternoon of February 9, 2018. Nicholas Millican, an 18-year-old Black male, was walking home from school with a group of friends, including 17-year-old Audrea Reed. Their journey was interrupted by a man on a bicycle who began following them and attempted to speak with one of the girls in the group. In a moment of courageous intervention, Millican stepped in.
