In the early morning hours of March 20, 2018, the body of Hysen Krqeli, a 25-year-old white male, was discovered by a passerby on a sidewalk in Antioch, Tennessee. The grim finding near the intersection of Bell Road and Brittany Park Drive just before 6 a.m. prompted an immediate investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department. It was soon determined that Krqeli had been fatally shot.
At the time of his death, he had been staying with various friends and relatives in the Nashville and Smyrna areas.
Detectives began the arduous task of piecing together the events that led to the young man's death, reaching out to his friends and associates to gather information. The investigation continued for several months until a significant breakthrough occurred in October of that year. The U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Ali Alzhyri at his residence in South Nashville in connection with the murder.
Authorities revealed that the motive behind the fatal shooting was a money dispute between Alzhyri and Krqeli, who were acquaintances. Alzhyri was subsequently indicted by a grand jury on a charge of first-degree murder and was held without bond. In March 2020, the legal proceedings concluded when Ali Alzhyri was convicted of facilitation of first-degree murder. For his role in the death of Hysen Krqeli, he was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison.
