Christopher Smith, a 24-year-old African American male from Memphis, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on March 28, 2018. He was fatally shot in the 4500 block of Cognac Cove in southeast Memphis while following a vehicle he suspected of being involved in a car theft. Smith and his 23-year-old cousin had been trailing the suspects when the situation escalated, leading to a shootout. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, while his cousin managed to escape and call for help.
