On the evening of July 1, 2017, 46-year-old Darren Lamar Harris, an African American man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, was found fatally shot inside a silver BMW parked on East 80th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. Responding officers discovered the driver's side window shattered, with Harris deceased in the driver's seat, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a. 45 caliber firearm.
