Tavoris Bates, a 31-year-old man from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on November 16, 2018. Bates was fatally shot in the evening on Middle Avenue in east Jackson. According to police reports, a witness claimed that Billy Wayne Moore, 51, confronted Bates and threatened him with a handgun before shooting him. Moore, along with another man, reportedly left the scene in a dark-colored truck and returned shortly after in a light-colored sedan to carry out the shooting.
