In December of 2018, the life of 21-year-old Kamondrez Carlton was tragically cut short in Columbia, Tennessee. On Friday, December 14th, Carlton was discovered at a Quick Mart 34 on Nashville Highway, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation led by the Columbia Police Department soon revealed that the shooting had not occurred at the convenience
store, but rather at a residence on Daniel Court, situated in a neighborhood behind Spring Hill High School. The proximity of the incident to the school prompted a temporary lockdown, though it was confirmed that no students were involved in the altercation.
In connection with the fatal shooting, authorities arrested 20-year-old D-Qwaun Dalton. He was taken into custody and faced charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault resulting in death. The Columbia Police Department continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
