On December 6, 2019, 13-year-old Demont’e Johnson, a young African American boy, was tragically killed in a shooting in North Memphis, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. in the 800 block of Looney Avenue. Demont’e was shot in the chest and arm and was rushed to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, but he did not survive his injuries.
