In the holiday season of 2019, a tragic event cut short the life of Christopher Starks, a 43-year-old man from the Memphis, Tennessee area. The night before Christmas, on December 24th, Starks was fatally shot in Cordova, a community just east of Memphis. The violence of the act stood in stark contrast to the festive time of year, leaving a family to grieve during what should have been a period of celebration.
