Mya Taylor, an 18-year-old African American female, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 2, 2020. Just days away from her graduation from Hillcrest High School, Mya was with two friends at a McDonald's drive-thru in the early morning hours. Shortly after she and a male friend swapped seats inside the vehicle, a silver-gray sedan pulled alongside them and occupants opened fire.
Both Taylor and her 19-year-old male companion were struck by the gunfire.
