In the early morning hours of May 17, 2020, the quiet of a Murfreesboro, Tennessee neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunshots. Responding to a call about an unresponsive person around 5 a.m., police arrived at a duplex on East Northfield Boulevard to make a grim discovery. Behind the residence, they found the body of Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Holland, a 45-year-old Caucasian man. He had been shot three times.
