In the early morning hours of June 26, 2020, a mother's life was tragically cut short in the Westwood neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. Tanesha McFadgon, a 33-year-old female, was shot and killed in what authorities believe was a targeted attack. The events leading to her death began with a dispute at a local corner store. Following the argument, McFadgon was followed to the 5000 block of Horn Lake Road.
As she stood outside a friend's home, the assailant unleashed a barrage of
gunfire, striking McFadgon multiple times. The shooter reportedly fired 26 rounds, with the initial shot proving to be fatal. Tragically, her three young children, ages nine, six, and two, were inside the residence, just feet away from where their mother was slain. Despite the brutal nature of the crime, the gunman fled the scene and has yet to be identified.
The Memphis Police Department has been actively investigating the homicide, and a reward has been offered by Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to an arrest. However, to date, no suspects have been publicly named, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Tanesha McFadgon. Her case remains an unsolved act of violence that left a family shattered and a community seeking justice.
