On a Friday night in October 2020, Shaun Taylor, a 31-year-old man, was fatally shot in the 600 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee. Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired and discovered Taylor on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The investigation into the shooting was conducted by the Homicide Unit of the Metropolitan
Nashville Police Department. While at the scene of Taylor's shooting, officers were called to a nearby address in the 30 block of Green Street, where they found another man, Jeremie Cunningham, 26, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his face.
Through their investigation, detectives determined that Cunningham was responsible for shooting Taylor. Subsequently, a murder warrant was issued for Jeremie Cunningham's arrest. Authorities planned to take him into custody and book him on the criminal homicide warrant following his release from the hospital where he was being treated for his facial injury.
