In the quiet community of Jacksboro, Tennessee, the life of 50-year-old Cindi Reynolds Hurt, a female former tourism director for Campbell County, was tragically cut short on October 31, 2020. Remembered as a respected and well-liked member of the community, her death sent shockwaves through the peaceful Wheeler Landing subdivision where she resided.
On that Halloween night, deputies from the Campbell County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Hurt's home following a report of a possible domestic violence incident. Upon their arrival and entry into the residence, they made a grim discovery. Two individuals were found deceased inside the home, one of whom was identified as Cindi Reynolds Hurt.
The initial investigation into the two deaths led law enforcement to believe the incident was a murder-suicide. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Harriman Police Department, conducted the investigation.
