In the winter of 2021, the life of 64-year-old Ronnie Turner was tragically cut short in Knoxville, Tennessee. On the afternoon of Tuesday, January 12th, Turner sustained gunshot injuries in a shooting that took place on Brookside Avenue. He was transported in a private vehicle to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, but succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The Knoxville Police Department swiftly launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the identification of a suspect, 48-year-old Rodney Harris, also a resident of Knoxville. Within a day of the fatal shooting, on Wednesday afternoon, Harris was taken into custody by police at a home located in the 1300 block of Connecticut Avenue.
Following his arrest, Rodney Harris faced serious charges in connection with the death of Ronnie Turner. He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated assault. The investigation into the shooting remained ongoing as authorities worked to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter.
