In the late hours of a Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of 21-year-old Christopher D. Davis was cut short in a burst of gunfire. The male victim was in a parking lot in the J.C. Napier Homes on Lafayette Street just after midnight on March 11, 2021, when the fatal encounter unfolded. Davis, a resident of nearby Madison, was talking with a group of individuals when the conversation took a violent turn.
According to police reports, Davis and two teenage companions, aged 17 and
19, were engaged in conversation with three other males. Suddenly, one of the three produced a handgun and opened fire on the group. The sudden violence left Davis with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers who found him lying in the parking lot. The two teenagers with him also sustained gunshot wounds but were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they were treated for their injuries and subsequently released.
