In the late morning of June 3, 2020, Traquan Primm, a 27-year-old male, was fatally shot in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 11:28 a.m. in the 3100 block of Long Boulevard, where Primm was standing with another man next to an apartment building. A dark-colored SUV approached them, and one or more suspects inside the vehicle opened fire. Primm was struck multiple times by the gunfire.
Responding to a shooting call, patrol officers found Primm at the scene.
He succumbed to his injuries, and his death was investigated as a homicide by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's Midtown Hills Precinct detectives. The other man who was with Primm at the time of the shooting was located and interviewed by investigators.
In the course of their investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a nearby short-term rental, where they discovered more than 20 pounds of marijuana. This led investigators to explore a drug-related motive for the shooting. As of early 2021, authorities were actively seeking information from the public to help identify the occupants of the suspect vehicle, which was described as a black 2018-2020 Audi SQ5 with custom chrome wheels and two stickers on the passenger-side windshield.
Despite the ongoing investigation and public appeals for information, no arrests have been announced in connection with the murder of Traquan Primm. The case is now considered a cold case, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
