On December 13, 2017, Iran Turner, a 36-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Popeyes restaurant, where Turner was shot multiple times.
Following the shooting, law enforcement authorities identified and arrested Steven Burks, a 25-year-old African American man, in connection with the homicide. Burks was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action.
