Death by Force

Aisha Nichole Cates, a 43-year-old African American woman from Knoxville, TN, tragically lost her life on August 22, 2021. She was fatally shot early Sunday morning at Walter P. Taylor Homes near McConnell Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Witnesses reported that someone in a vehicle drove by and fired a shot before speeding off. Cates was later pronounced dead at UT Medical Center.
