On the evening of Friday, July 6, 2007, Kenneth Baxter, a 43-year-old man, finished his shift at the Hilton Garden Inn in the Towne Centre Mall in Southaven, Mississippi. He left his workplace around 8:30 p.m. to begin his usual 1.5-mile walk home to his apartment on Airways Boulevard. Tragically, he would not make it home that night.
