Do you know who murdered Jair Valencia in 2007?
In the late hours of March 31, 2007, a sense of unease settled over the Bradford Park Apartments in Southaven, Mississippi. Jair Valencia, a Black male, had been visiting his brother in the same complex just a short while before the night took a tragic turn. As he walked back to his own apartment, located at 5722 Arbor Dr., he was confronted by a group of several young Black males.

A struggle broke out, shattering the nighttime quiet. In the ensuing chaos, gunshots rang out. According to witnesses, one of the assailants fired twice, walked away, and then callously returned to fire three more times into Jair Valencia's upper torso. The young men then fled the scene on foot, disappearing into the darkness. Witnesses also reported seeing a dark-colored SUV speeding away from the area moments after the shooting.

Southaven Police Officers responded to a 'shots fired' call at approximately 11:00 p.m. Upon their arrival, they made a grim discovery. Jair Valencia was found lying in the backseat of his vehicle, having succumbed to his gunshot wounds. Despite the witness accounts, the identities of the suspects remain unknown, and no arrests have been made in the case.

The investigation into the murder of Jair Valencia has since gone cold, leaving his family without closure and his killers at large. The Southaven Police Department continues to seek information from the public, hoping that a new lead will emerge and bring justice for Jair. A reward is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for his death.
