In the autumn of 2021, the life of Marcus Malone Jr., a 20-year-old Black man from Memphis, Tennessee, was tragically cut short by gun violence. On the evening of October 7th, Malone was at a gas station on Lamar Avenue in Memphis when a double shooting occurred. The incident left Malone with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was also struck by gunfire during the event.
