On the evening of December 24, 2021, in Memphis, Tennessee, 41-year-old Juan Castillo, a Hispanic male, was returning to his home at the Cedar Creek Apartments on Steve Road. As he arrived, he was confronted by a 20-year-old man named Eric Alao Alvarez. Alvarez ordered Castillo out of his vehicle and then shot him multiple times.

Following the shooting, Alvarez stole Castillo's 2012 Kia Sorrento and left the scene. Emergency services transported Castillo to a nearby hospital, but he succu ...
