Artemis Rayford, a 12-year-old African American boy from Memphis, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on December 25, 2021. Artemis was shot inside his home in the Orange Mound neighborhood while playing video games with his family on Christmas morning. The incident occurred around 2 a.m., and despite being rushed to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, Artemis did not survive his injuries.
