Twelve-year-old Artemis Rayford, a male, was at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, on Christmas morning of 2021, filled with the joy of the holiday and engrossed in playing with a new video game he had just received. In an instant, that festive scene turned to tragedy. A stray bullet, fired from outside the residence, pierced through the walls of the house and struck the young boy in the chest. In his final moments, he called out for his mother before collapsing into her arms.
