Jaqwan Gillette, an 18-year-old male from Knoxville, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on March 28, 2022. He was fatally shot during an altercation in the parking lot of the Dollar General on Sutherland Avenue. The incident occurred when two cars entered the parking lot to conduct a marijuana transaction. During the exchange, gunfire erupted, and Jaqwan Gillette was struck and later pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel to save him.
