In the spring of 2022, a life was tragically cut short on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee. Emmanuel Gordon Jr., a 58-year-old male, was walking near the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and Underwood Street on the morning of March 28th. At approximately 10:20 a.m., a small white sedan with significant front-end damage approached him. Shots were fired from the car, striking Gordon. The violence did not end there; a man exited the vehicle, stood over Mr. Gordon, and fired additional shots.
He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the death of Emmanuel Gordon Jr. led authorities to a suspect with a prior connection to the victim. Kezachary Horsley, 20 years old at the time, was identified and arrested in connection with the murder. The motive for this brutal act appears to stem from a previous altercation between the two men. In September 2020, Horsley had allegedly robbed Gordon at gunpoint, taking $8 from him. It is believed that Gordon's cooperation with the prosecution of that robbery is what led to his killing.
Following the shooting, law enforcement began a search for the small white sedan, described as possibly being a Ford and missing its front bumper. When Kezachary Horsley was apprehended, he was initially taken into custody on outstanding warrants for domestic assault and failure to appear in court. A search of his apartment uncovered a. 40 caliber pistol, which was later confirmed to be the weapon used in Emmanuel Gordon Jr.'s murder. Horsley was subsequently charged with criminal homicide for the death of Emmanuel Gordon Jr.
