Jeffery Dean Odum Jr., a 31-year-old man from Orrum, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on July 20, 2019. The incident occurred late on a Saturday night, around 11 p.m., when deputies responded to a shooting on Acre Lane in Orrum. Jeffery Dean Odum Jr. was transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center by a family member but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.
The suspect in this case is Jada Hayes, a 26-year-old woman from Fairmont, North Carolina. She was charged with first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Hayes was taken into custody and is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond. The incident also involved another victim, Christopher Singletary, a 29-year-old man from Fairmont, who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and is currently in stable condition.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office Homicide Division is actively investigating the case. The authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
