On July 25, 2022, 44-year-old Alfrantuan Joe Jones, also known as Lamorris Alfrantuan Jones, a black male from Humboldt, Tennessee, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 1:34 a.m. when officers from the Humboldt Police Department were dispatched to 4700 Main Street in response to a call about a vehicle being shot at and ending up in a ditch.
