In the Binghampton neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, on the evening of October 14, 2022, the life of Nepoleon Brooks, a 35-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. At approximately 9:10 p.m. at the Chickasaw Place Apartments on Mimosa Avenue, Brooks was struck by a fatal gunshot to his lower back.
