In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Knoxville, Tennessee, a dispute that began inside the El Pulpo Loco nightclub on Alcoa Highway tragically escalated, spilling into the parking lot and ending in gunfire. When Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. on October 16, 2022, they discovered two men who had been shot.
One of the victims, a 32-year-old male named Pablo Roberto Núñez Acosta from Louisville, Tennessee, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The violent altercation left two other individuals wounded. One man was transported to the UT Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries. A third victim later arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle with a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening and was subsequently released after treatment. Investigators believe the shooting was the culmination of an argument that started within the club.
In the days following the fatal shooting, the Knoxville Police Department announced an arrest in the case. Brady Adrian Mencia Caceres was taken into custody in Loudoun County. He has been charged with one count of manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the incident that resulted in the death of Pablo Roberto Núñez Acosta and the injuries of the other two men. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
