In the late afternoon of a Friday in Nashville, Tennessee, a long-simmering dispute reached a tragic and final conclusion. Arthur Henderson, a 38-year-old man, found himself in a heated argument in the parking lot of the Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road. The verbal confrontation escalated, and a brief physical altercation ensued between Henderson and another individual.
The other man, identified as 38-year-old Tommie Lee Brown II, allegedly produced a firearm and fatally shot
Henderson. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting on November 18, 2022, Brown fled the scene, leaving Henderson to be discovered by authorities. Investigators quickly pieced together the events, aided by surveillance footage from the apartment complex which captured the fatal encounter.
Homicide detectives pursued strong leads, and their investigation soon pointed towards Brown as the primary suspect. It was determined that after the shooting, Brown traveled to Clarksville. However, law enforcement was closing in. Detectives from the TITANS unit tracked his movements and learned he had switched vehicles to a Dodge Charger and was heading back towards Nashville.
In a coordinated effort, the Tennessee Highway Patrol intercepted the vehicle on Interstate 24 as it crossed back into Davidson County. Tommie Lee Brown II was taken into custody without further incident. He was subsequently charged with criminal homicide for the death of Arthur Henderson. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $500,000 as he awaited legal proceedings.
