Darnell Appling, a 25-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on December 29, 2022. He was found shot dead in a parking lot in the 1000 block of North Watkins. The investigation into his death revealed that Appling's mother had shown police a threatening Facebook message sent from a user named KashSt Mack. This message warned Appling to "put your on a leash before something happens to you," which was linked to Lamarcus Smith, a 24-year-old suspect.
