FBI Special Agent Terry R. Anderson, born in January 1924, was shot and killed on May 17, 1966, while searching for a kidnapped girl in the rugged mountain terrain near Shade Gap, Pennsylvania. Anderson, a male of Caucasian ethnicity, was 42 years old at the time of his death. He was pursuing William Diller Hollenbaugh, also known as "Mountain Man," who had abducted 17-year-old Peggy Ann Bradnick and held her captive for seven days.
