Wardell Green, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on October 27, 1971, inside a Philadelphia club. The incident occurred after an argument with Russell Barnes, who shot Green following a dispute with Barnes' cousin a few days earlier. This event was part of a series of violent incidents linked to the Philadelphia Black Mafia, a notorious African-American organized crime syndicate active in the late 1960s to early 1980s.
