John David Watson, a 14-year-old boy from Dunbar Township, Pennsylvania, tragically died on May 2, 1974. Watson, who was white, left his home on his bicycle that evening to buy cigarettes for his mother at a nearby motel. He never returned home, and his body was discovered the next morning on a neighbor's property with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
